I can’t help but say that I think this boy is one of the cutest orphans we have on our list who are waiting to be found by a host family! I’m a sucker for blue eyes and a great smile!

Yuriy “Yura” is a student who receives awards for his high effort. He aspires to work in the field of computer engineering. If he could have 2 wishes, he wants a family and a laptop. Speaks 5 languages and English is one of them! He has experience traveling abroad as he has been to Holland two times. He wants to visit America with a special request to visit a big city. Gem of a young man!

Yura recently received a $500 scholarship towards hosting fees.

90% of available orphans and sibling groups who are featured on the New Horizons for Children hosting list who have scholarships end up being hosted! This is one of the easiest ways to contribute to helping an these children discover the love of a family.

The Year in Review, The Year to Come! – 2011-2012

2011. What a year.  It was a year filled with more blessings than I ever imagined.  I love to take time on New Year’s Eve to reflect on the amazing ways God has blessed me in the past year:

I am in awe.  Out of the list of 8 things above… the only thing I would have forecasted 1 year ago would have been graduation.  When I think about the reality that God has given me so much more than that, I can’t help but praise him!  He has given me so much more than I deserve! 

I have faith that he has even more in store for the coming year.  With his faithfulness and grace daily, I know there’s so much to look forward to.  For the coming  year I am praying for:

  • Continued provision and guidance to bring Sasha home in God’s perfect timing
  • Favor and wisdom to complete my first school year as a guidance counselor
  • For open doors and direction to do the things God is calling me to do
  • To grow closer to God and make my heart more like his

God bless you and yours in the coming year!

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Calendars for any New Horizons host families to use! Months and days are written in English, Ukrainian, & Russian – for Ukraine calendar and English, Latvian, & Russian – for Latvia calendar… you never know which language they will speak/read! Also includes specific arrival and departure dates.

Could also make a good English lesson for one day to teach the days of the week!
